Morning in the Canyon
In 2008 I took one of the most amazing trips of my life, a rafting trip down the Colorado River, through the Grand Canyon. It was 226 miles from Lee’s Fairy to Diamond Creek. Two weeks of rapids, lazy river drifting, and sheer cliffs. The colors were amazing. In 2010, after settling back into Minnesota, I painted this piece, Morning in the Canyon. It’s not meant to be an exact place in the Grand Canyon or Northern Arizona, just to convey the feeling of peace that water flowing against red rocks in the desert gave me. Enjoy!
